STRATEGIC PLAN MOVES FORWARD Submitted by Gordon Gould It’s an exciting time here at Lowell First UMC. At its June meeting, ACT formally adopted the Strategic Plan that was fashioned by the ad hoc Strategic Planning committee under Jim White’s leadership. At its August meeting on the 18th, ACT continued the business of filling in names of members who are willing to work on the goals identified in the plan for the year 2010. There are opportunities for anyone who is interested in working on a particular goal….there is ALWAYS room for your help as we look at the future of our church here in Lowell. If you have an interest in joining the effort, see Pastor Rick or me. ACT has set the goal of having all names in place and ‘action plans’ identified by its October meeting with the idea that the groups will then go ‘full steam ahead’ to work on implementing as many goals as are feasible by the end of 2010. But, the fun doesn’t stop there!!! During the 2010 year, various task forces will be formulated around the other goals that are listed for 2011-2014 so that by the end of 2014 the strategic plan will be as ‘implemented’ as it can feasibly be! That’s exciting!! ACT will set some internal ‘checkpoints’ and evaluation processes so that the progress of the plan and its ‘reality check’ is under ongoing review as the plan moves along. Questions? See Pastor Rick or me. We’ll be happy to talk with you. Feedback and ideas are important to the success of the plan! |
